Sounds like an impressive spec there and I'd love to see that sexy looking engine on the rolling road !

Stainless door handles

Rear sway bar, mounting to hubs, routed through cradle tunnel (Martin G)

Annoying warning buzzer replaced by Pontiac chime module, with silencer switch

Stainless electroluminescent headlier logos

Stainless rear spoiler

That is a serious build list! Not sure if the above were mentioned elsewhere. Would love more info or pics of them

This is the chime module, came from Germany strangely;

I haven't finnished the socket adapter to wire it neatly yet, I'm following the guide Welmeod posted on DMCtalk (but with an extra switch to turn it off completely).

Tow bar is a Towsure unit originally designed for the Toyota Yaris;

Chris is working on the mounting spider for it, he thinks it can bolt on without needing any frame modifications.

The headliner logos look exactly like the sill logos;

but with a thin border of stainless visible instead of the whole plate. I actually made them because I had some spare logo plates left over (ordered them before I decided to get the ready-made light-up sills). All the logos are grounded through the door switches but powered from the 'aux lighting' center console switch, so they only come on when the appropriate door is open and aux lighting is enabled.

I keep forgetting to take photos, sorry will try and remember next time I'm down at Chris's workshop.

Why do you want it as a 2013 Delorean? Would you not be liable for more tax etc? I see they might count it as a 2013 delorean but I cant see enthusiasts viewing that way (ie wasnt built in the factory)

Sounds like a beast though, twin turbo will be sweet.

The fibre glass fascia still seems nuts to me :p

I don't, it's more hassle (for insurance, forums etc) and more expensive, although on the plus side it does seem more honest. This is simply what the DVLA recommended and as such the best chance to get the car registered promptly and legally.

The history and context of the car, like all mass produced items, is embodied in the design, all the people and work that went into making that design a reality, and the lingering cultural impact. The history of when any given set of parts was bolted together into a car is trivia by comparison; there are a few DMC-12s with individual historic notability but the vast majority of examples are just that, examples of the design. Obviously a lot of people imbue objects with a mystical capability to contain history, and I can understand that for one-of-a-kind masterpieces, objects that played a pivotal role in wars or politics, even movie props, but for a typical assembly line motorcar I'm not feeling it.

So in short it's blatantly obvious that anything built in 2013 isn't an original DMC product (including everything made by DMC Houston), I don't care and I'm actually glad that this will be plainly stated on the V5. I'd rather be honest and annoy purists than misrepresent the car or the huge amount of sterling work done by Chris & Ed.

Fwiw I'm seeing this car as a 1985 improved car if the development continued and look forward to seeing the engineering that has gone into it, especially the engine :D

Thanks for the encouragement guys, with luck it will be ready for at least one event this summer.

Honestly I have no idea, Martin advertises the brake upgrade as 'fully fitted' so I assume he has a plan, but I don't know the details. Ed Uding has apparently been working on a fully compliant four wheel brake upgrade kit, but hasn't had the time to complete it.

Mid-80s appropriate seatbelt covers (i.e. if the car has a turbocharger, plaster 'turbo' on every free surface);
