First off let me say that I received my parts from Ed, only to find out that there are several types of reverse gears. Mine has 23 teeth and Ed's replacement had 34 shorter teeth.
Damn:(

QUESTION!

SO WHAT IS THE MANUAL TRANS UN! code of the Delorean transmissions??

And while I am waiting for my transmission to be reassembled.... My super-duper Renault expert, got involved in a Bike accident and is now hospitalized with a serious lung injury being punctured by the thorax bones. :( Poor guy.

My passengers door got in from Florida, thanx to James. Looks great!!!! Even comes from a 7K vin again.

And started cleaning my old door out for its guts...

Found that little tag in my door.
Image

And funny enough, the old PAX door replacement had ALSO little fish drawn on to it. (like my rear bumper did. My vin is 5992 and the door is 7k something) I am figuring there was a Pisces in that assembly line.
Image

Pisces are known to use the fish outline on their cars, on jewelry etc.

Along with that wiring foot note

Sat down and created my own top and bottom door weather stripping. Removed the old and cut out fresh stripes.

And assembled

Finally did the delicate and hard work of detaching the fixed glass.

If your guy is not available (and I hope he gets better soon) this company might be able to help :

http://www.gtoracing.co.uk

They might be able to advise if you have them the casing number and/or description of the parts required. I wouldn't be able to help as I have the more advanced knee friendly "mighty auto"

Good luck

How come you're having to change your original door?

You have not been paying attention young man!!!! :naughty: hehehe

Well as you may see at the beginning of this thread, my Delo was turned into a parts donor by DMCFL before I bought it.
So the PAX door was not really my original door.

It came off 7154 and it was very brutally repaired. Something must have fallen on to it at some point.

Worked a bit more on that PAX door today.

Pulled the wiring harness through the channel. I thought that would be a bitch but thankfully it got in easier than I had pulled it out!!
A tiny wire helped it a lot!!
The thin wire lets its self follow the curves of the channel easily
Image
twisted and taped it around the harness pushing on one side and pulling on the other
Image
And there it is... Pickabooo!!!
Image

On to adding the door lock and latch mechanisms.
Image

Also repaired the power window motor. Too it apart greased it and thankfully it works... a bit noisy though :P

Finally I cut a couple of heat shield styrofoam sheets about 2 cm thick...
Image

and placed them into the head sink gap of the door. That should keep some of the high temperatures of Greece off my head.
Image

The good thing about it is that you can pull it out anytime you want to.. but i wouldn't see why one would need access to that compartment.
