I've spent most of 2 hours trying to get the arms back in with the new washers for the LCA bushings. Needless to say I gave up on that approach. The roll bar just had to come off.

How did you tighten the nuts? Did you weld them in place? Or did you do like me and navigate a spanner inside the supports? (I am sure we've talked about this last year to be honest)

Suspension work all done now. I celebrated by cleaning all the tools (yikes).

Too hot for a test drive.

Thanks everybody for the kind words. I really needed that. I am really sore from working hard to get it finished on time for the MOT.

The brackets from Ed were a breeze to install, and (as it turned out) the new poly bushings for the LCA are also really easy to install once you get the roll bar off. To summarize, here's what I did last 2 weeks instead of waiting for winter:

- Remove wheels
- Split ball joints, upper & lower
- Remove upper control arms
- Remove radiator support brackets
- Remove doubled nuts on the torsion bar support brackets
- Remove torsion bar
- Remove shock bolts (hammer time!)
- Remove shocks
- Remove springs
- Remove LCA bolts (hammer time again!)
- Remove Lower Control Arms
- Remove old LCA bushings
- Remove bad lower ball joints
- Remove tectyl coating on LCA arms
- Clean, Grind, Sand, Paint LCA's
- Have Ed press in new (UK) ball joints and PU bushes
- Reinstall the whole shebang, by reversing the above procedure.

In the process I had to visit some shops to find the proper nuts and bolts, replaced most of it by fresh washers and bolts mostly because of the radiator support brackets, turns out my local hardware store was the place to be (ironic isn't it).

Worst of it all, I have not taken pictures, boohoo :(

Nice one Rob. You say you pressed PU bushes into the lower arms? I thought you were replacing with fresh rubber?

Another car on Club balljoints, how many is that now? I hope they last or this club is finished lol
