The plug it should connect to is the lead from the distributor base, as this is where the electronic pick up is (from the reluctor) inside the distributor. Think of this as a replacement if contact basket points.

Have you got a black lead that comes out if your distributor?


The fuel distributor is a Volvo head.
The spark distributor has that black lead that I can't find where it connects to.

If you're holding the same plug, it should connect to the plug that comes from the hole in the fire wall that is about 10-15cm below and to the left of the ceramic resistors. This then connects to the ignition "ecu"/ amplifier.
