That single sentence had brought a year to my eye (with happiness).

Here's an example of how to extend wires, according to the PO:

- When replacing or extending a PURPLE wire, use a red one.
- When replacing or extending a BROWN wire, use a black one.
- When replacing a RED wire, use a brown one.
- If you have a perfectly matching connector, use a different one.
- Use isolation tape to make sure a twisted wire doesn't come undone.
- In case you don't have isolation tape of a disputable quality, use scotch locks in the most awkward position, preferable extremely closed to a terminal.
- When replacing a relay with a bridge wire, swap the pins around.
- Never use a crimp tool or heat shrink.

These rules are followed religiously. At least you know what you're dealing with.

I scanned my car once more, there should be no more scotch locks remaining. I feel very proud about that. And tomorrow the fuse compartment will be much cleaner by removing all the nonsense wiring coming from and to the ac panel resistor. I will finish up that job this winter, when i will tackle the fusebox replacement and replace the wiring with the proper colors.
