Oh, Very sorry to hear you went through a challenging health issue :(
I bet the D was your hope to get over it right? ;)

I assure you, I am far from professional. I bet many professionals see my mistakes but in good sportsmanship they avoid commenting! heheheh

I do hope to inspire any other person to go through such a process. It is dirty, nerve and time consuming but I would NEVER trade that over a ready and driveable Delorean.

PS Do that steering joint lubing. My joints were not stuck but after the lube the were moving by the selves (gravity assisted). That is where I realized they were stiff. Beats the very pricey assisted power steering set.

Alex, you are like a squirrel with ADHD :), moving from instruments to door hinges to brakes.

And I mean that in a good way. Keep it up :)

No worries mate, ;)
Even if I don't know what ADHD is, I wouldn't expect anything bad coming from you.

I am hopping from section to section cause I am in this frustrating situation that most parts I need are still not in. Some haven't been shipped and other not yet ordered. There is a serious bulk parts set ordered back in July and paid for, but the member over in DMCtalk is very slow at pulling parts. He is doing it in his back yard and weather permitted he only gets access to it. Plus he is away for over a month now on his military duty and should have been back last week.

This situation is worse than having waited for the D to cross the Atlantic. :p

Picked up all my powdercoated items today. No point of posting images cause they are all still wrapped up.
I did remove the customly made MOMO adapter.
Looks VERY close to the DMCH release.

All other undercarriage parts have been powder painted with the same mate black texture.

Looks batmobile-ish

I don't suppose your D was in that bad condition as mine mate.
Thank you for pushing my chin up. ;)

:ugeek: Not bad for a chap who had never seen a real life DeLorean before in his life eh?

The magic of these forums! All your Delorean pioneers threads have given me a walk-through making me feel like this is my tenth restoration.
Just like your "keep cool Ollie" thread. Helped me decide what is the best cooling method to follow.

Actual Kudos go out to all you guys actually. I am just taking the sleazy way of copying you.

Cleansing interior time!!!
Took all carpets out on a sunny day, sprayed them with carpet cleaners (serious oxi-action stuff!!).
That sheet foams real good:P
Then used the water jet blaster to wash the dew out of em.

You notice I had the house carpets next:)

Image
In those images the discussing filth they had is hardly noticeable cause they are already wet and foaming.

But the end effect is a miracle!
