Ever wondered why there's 'man' in manual? Nonono auto is not an elite group. Its the easy way out. (Fishing for responses!)

you just bought a manual because it's got a gearstick and you've got nothing else to fiddle with!!! good enough response for ya!! :P

Yeah it would be great to do a side by side comparison, i'd expect the manual to be quicker obviously, but it
would be interesting to see 1st hand how much quicker it is.

I often have days of during the week so if you're ever at a loose end and your car is on the road drop me an
e-mail and we can do some basic tests.

A few side by side tests 0-60 and then say side by side at 30mph and then floor it to 70mph to see how they
differ in that speed range.

I guess the auto will mainly loose out on the 0-15mph as the gearing in 1st seems quite tall and the torque
converter isn't 100% efficient + obviously there are only 3 ratios to choose from.

I'm going to do a much needed oil change on Monday and then do a couple of other tests with the camera
fixed on the speedo.

off topic, but which filter do I need from Halfords and what oil? 100% synthetic?

(Approx £2.50 NB: This has the anti drain back valve inside.
The diameter is correct to avoid a standard oil sender.
The flow capacity correctly matches the engine)

OIL: 15w/40 Semi Synthetic is fine. I personally wouldn't go for a fully synthetic it will be too thin.
Change once a year regardless of mileage.
Your car your choice though. :D
