Misty emailed today and said Toby found the parts to get one mounting kit together so that is now on its way! My rear calipers were collected for refurb at Ward Engineering and the fronts went to Premier Autoparts to avoid a core part charge. The new ones are on their way already along with the belts, washer motor and track rod ends. I went and got the steel for the welder tomorrow too so it is still all systems go!!!

Great news Matt! Be sure to take lots of photos of the chassis being cut about and repaired. :D

Will try to get some pictures sorted for today later. The rot on the frame was all cut out and new steel put in its place, plates cut for the control arms and welded on. The material for the steering rack bushes arrived along with my battery isolation switch and fuel pump. The welder has to come back tomorrow to finish off the frame and my broken towing eye but that won't take long.

Here are some pics of the welding. Needs a few bits straightened out and cleaned up, but grinder broke so will have to wait.

I have a question Matt. With all these bits welded on is it affecting the structural intergrity of the car as a whole?

I hope not. It is really only 2 plates on the back crossmember but you can see on either side. With the original bits rotting I would say it is stronger. If you are talking about the control arms I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference after Reading a DMC talk thread with each control arm simulated. Dan said when talking to him a few had it done though.

Finally got my TAB's removed using the burners in work. New front calipers, belts, washer motor, track rod ends, fuel pressure regulator and brake pads arrived today! Don't even think I got this many things to open at Christmas!

Frame is more or less ready to go to get coated. If I don't get it over today it'll go tomorrow with a week turnaround which will be slightly longer due to Easter hols. I have to take my condenser to get tidied up as well so busy times still.

Nightmare!!!

John Dore noticed my crossmember plate was put back on upside down. The box indentation is going upwards and not down.

Does it need to be there or if I had it cut out instead would it do? Problem is was looking frame away asap and welder wouldn't be available until weekend.
