John said it would interfere with the suspension link arm movement. Words can't describe how annoyed I am right now

I think I will try to make a press with clamps to indent it the other way

Matt

I'd go with what John says, he knows his stuff, I can understand you being totally p""sed off but I reckon you havent got any choice but to split it off and re-weld.

You could possibly clamp it etc..but it wasnt supposed to be that way round, nor be exposed to the sort of forces that it would need to invert it.

The fickle finger has you, but it could be worse.

Will just cut it off and get it right. Hopefully it will only hold me up a few days as the Easter holidays were holding me up anyway. I can get on with my condenser, brake and suspension building in the mean time so it can just be bolted on

Still massively frustrating though

Oh dear... sorry to say thats correct buddy ... the lower link cant move up and down unless you reverse that closing plate :(

Thats the kind of luck i have but it shouldnt be a great big job to redo Matt

Started removing the plate today but rain halted play so moved inside and started dismantling my steering rack. I wonder how many people got to the stage where you stand the rack vertically to drain the oil out and nothing happened? It has been parked up for at least 6 years though. Anyhow at the minute I m cleaning everything up while the bush for the passenger side is made up. In all honesty it wasn't too bad, with 1-2mm play but since it is out I will change it. I am getting 16 bushes 30mm long with 31mm outer diameter and 22.25mm inner diameter made up so if anyone wants one I should have some.

Plate is removed again and took the opportunity to tidy up the welds beneath as best I could along with some messy welds on my front frame extension. My POR 15 arrived so I decided to paint my lower control arms, rear suspension support arms and rear springs. The rest of the day was spent wire brushing and degreasing which I really hate.
