Exactly Dan,

The stainless wouldn't be as strong, especially at that length. Weight would worry me too on things like rear trailing arm bolts and front suspension arms (you know how much they twist on a standard car). What about the floor? You couldnt use a tub with glass fibre sills at that length either.

My guess is he'd want to carry the standard limo 8 passengers too. On "proper limo conversions" (at manufacturers) they consider weight load on tyres, so usually fit "commercial vehicle" tyres and steel, or stronger alloy wheels.

As an ornament it will be fine, but to drive it about or take passengers would be irresponsible.

Hasn't it got an RSJ running down the middle of it? That said, I don't think this is anything other than a "show car" - about as practical as the D-Rex he also owns. He certainly doesn't plan on doing any hen dos in it!

I wonder how much he'll have spent on making it if he's never going to get it back? I'd assumed he'd have been hiring it out, only way to get a return on the investment.

Agreed it's a SERIOUS engineering job to make the thing safe but if it can be made so I think it's an exciting and fun addition to the world of DeLoreans out there :)

He's always stated that it is just for shows and personal use and not for hiring out so I guess he won't have to meet so many of the legal requirements.

Seems a little silly having that many doors, a normal limo doesn't and for every door you've lost internal space for your drinks cabinet, TV's etc...

But he's obviously got money to burn.

Yeah I think its just a bit of fun really. Also there's nothing stopping him sticking a delorean vin plate on it and registering it as a delorean, no safety tests....

I did similar when I build my trike a few years ago, I slapped a reliant robin vin plate on it as the v5 said 'tricycle' ;)
