Wow, it rally has made my day, finding out all that info and seeing that pic. I just can't get over it.

You've been to Buncrana? Small world eh!! Yeah... been raining non stop this last few months... didn't want to leave the D out for long, there are no outer seals on the doors!

Ahh, no doubt I'll be cruising by Greencastle in the car at some stage! (it's not as nice as Buncrana though :P )

Sending you a PM shortly with my email!

Thanks Rob!
If I had known about the Eurotec one in Belfast last year I would have gone, even though it was well before I got my car! Oh well... maybe next time!

That's the closest Vin to mine that I've heard of locally (I'm 5462)

Same here! I've never heard of anything even close to mine before.
Btw James, do you still do the steering wheel refurbs? As you can see from the pics, I'm seriously in need of it!

Martin,

emailed the photo. Sorry, there wasn't an article inside, much to my surprise, just a note that it was improted in 1991 by George Alpine.

I got it, Dermot, thanks!

I'm starting to piece together the history now.
As best I can tell, it's as follows:

1981 - 1991 = From factory to Florida; sold to unknown buyer by unknown dealership
1991 - ? = Imported to the UK by Geoff Pugh, Seagrave Classic Cars; sold to George Alpine, Aberdeen
? - 2007 approx. = Owned by Daniel Cragg, Milton Keynes
2007 approx. - 2011 = Owned by Trevor Mc Connell, Navan, Ireland
October 2011 - Present = owned by me

That's it so far! But even learning all that in the space of a couple of evenings is amazing. Seriously, you guys are the best!

This is the bit from the magazine, courtesy of Dermot:
