Disconnect the electrical connection from the coil labelled "1" (or "CB") and measure the voltage at the "15" (or B+)

What is the voltage at the top ceramic resistor right hand blade connection?

I'll get a serious meter and do that AB! For the time I have a funny led indicator that just shows me a short 12v current but nothing more.

Cheers for now.

For now, double check that the electrical connector between the coil and the wire that goes to the bullhead is intact. (The one that was hung over your gearbox during your rebuild)

If you disconnect this, measure the resistance between the 2 pins on the wire that goes TO the coil (inductive pickup). This should be between 550 ohms to 650 ohms. If it is open circuit, you won't get a spark.

Good luck

FOR NOW These are the resistor readings

Coil is not getting any juice!

Will give you ohms in a few

Could I be having an ecu fail?
Are there pins on the two ecu plugs I can measure to read if that is working correctly?

Here is the diagram

This wire going to the distributor has 605 ohms

Can't spot the wire that goes to the coil AB that you mentioned.

605 ohms is very good

I assume you've checked fuse 1 and that the green wire to the ignition amplifier has 12v and that the earth connection to the ignition amplifier is ok.

Disconnect and isolate the 2.2 micro-farad capacitor from the ignition coil and try again.

If it doesn't work, disconnect all of the low tension wires to tree coil and measure the resistance between the small outer terminals. Also measure the resistance between the high-tension part of the coil and both the outer pins. Post all results.

I can send out a spare working ignition amplifier to you if you need to try one, but sometimes the plug just needs disconnecting (pulling off) and reconnecting.

Good luck

I had similar problems once, from memory I traced it back to a poor connection at the multiplugs
