Doing the recording for Driver was fun, I still play the game and think of it as "my" DeLorean.
I have a friend who is "Vehicle Handling Designer" at Ubisoft who told me they were putting a DeLorean in the game and asked if i'd help out by bringing mine along. They put it on a dyno and stuck 8 mic's in and around the car so they could record the engine, air intake, exhaust etc. which they then did at various RPM (500 rpm increments) along with a few sweeps up and down the rev range to produce the sound for the game. They did 3 cars in the day; mine, the bosses Merc SL and this Dodge Dart:
