As the suspension goes up and down the arms try to twist because the anti roll-bar moves up and down in an arc. These plates stop the arms twisting but then the movement has to be taken up with the bushes. If you fit pollys in the anti rollbar AND where it attaches to the frame then your straining the whole setup a lot. I have kept rubber bushes in the arms where they attach to the frame. I had pollys in my old car and ended up swapping them back to rubber because the ride was so harsh and bangy and I found the pollys wore out very quickly from the stresses. The whole design is pretty poor really. It should have a lower arm similar to the upper arm, then the roll bar would attach with drop links.
