Fantastic progress Dan 8-)

The injection pipe looks spot on. I changed mine for OEM around 10 years ago but on a super hot day, when the car has been running hard I think I still suffer from colapsing intake hose syndrome. The coiled/metal insert looks ideal to stop the collapsing. Is the Pipe pose-able to fit nice and easy?

Hi Chris,

The intake hose is new from DMCH, I put the spring inside as this had been done on my old car and I never had any trouble with collapsing. It was fairly easy to feed the spring through with string attached to the end to pull it through.

Dan,

Saw you have removed your tab bolts. What's the length and diameter of them as I have a great fastener supplier that can get you 10.9 or 12.9 bolts cheaper that most of the rip off merchants trying to sell kits.

Note however that the bolts bend for a reason. When the nuts get lose the bolts bend. If you check them each year the normal 10.9 ones are fine and won't bend. Also if you hit the back wheel on something the bolt will bend rather than the chassis or the arm. The energy has to go somewhere and if the bolt does not bend the the arm or the chassis will !

I'd sooner change a bent bolt them an arm or the chassis. For the sake of checking them once a year is it worth it ?

Thanks Dan.

I have always thought maybe its careless driving or something that causes them to bend. Anyway I thought it best to change them, but was surprised they weren't bent at all! Anyway I have already bought a pair of Ed's bolts a few weeks ago, but thanks for the offer anyway. I dare say Alistair will be after some though!

Depending on the length I think about £5 for a set of 12.9 grade tab bolts with nuts.

Since my last post I have rebuild all 4 brake calipers with new pistons and seals. Replaced all the flexi brake pipes with Julian's set. Re-fitted the calipers with all new pads. I finally got round to getting it MOT'd at the weekend, and now it can be registered at last. The plan is to register from the 1st Oct so it should be coming along to the Norfolk meet :D It still needs an accumulator as its a right bastard to start at the moment, both hot and cold which is odd though...

I also cut out the center console to fit a standard radio instead of the old spindle mount type.
