Next job is to get the arms stripped and weld on plates to re-enforce them but that can wait till next weekend now.

Yes Rob, done the very same thing to my first car! Nothing like doing a job twice :roll:

I am thinking about modifying the front arms the same way that Jason Monk has done to his, but I can't find where on here he put the pics...

Anyone want a pair of stock ride height front springs? :lol:

They would help but you still get some flexing, and I'm not a fan of polybushes. They maybe better if they were solidly mounted to the arm and only had bushes where they pivot on the chassis.

I personally think Jason's idea is a better solution making a proper wishbone.

Ah right I see.

If my frame wasnt galvanised/powdercoated already, I'd consider going down the proper wishbone route then.

Time for a bit of an update as I've been doing some more work.

I decided not to bother modifying the suspension setup in the end because basically I couldn't be bothered and just want the car back on the road now.

Arms shot-blasted and then cut out strengthening plates:
