Back from EuroTec 2015 i managed to find some spare energy to get the stuck #3 spark plug out with a little persuasion. I'm very glad i got it out with no damage. The plugs look real dark which isn't strange considering the rough running. With this last one out, i know that all injectsors and spark plugs aren't stuck at least.

next up: get new spark plugs, and find a few jars to test the spray pattern.

But first i need to chillax a bit from an awesome weekend with friends!

Excellent result Rob

When you get round to putting it back together, put the 3 injectors I've cleaned and tested on the left hand side, as they are the hardest to get to.

Keep it up :D

I know, indeed they are. You really need to remove the idle motor to get to the #1 (is that number 1?) but fortunately that only takes 2 insignificant screws. Totally unlike the distributor cap where you basically need to remove the entire fuel distributor. I tried removing only the last 2 hex nuts on top of the air intake and the ram's horns to i could lift the fuel distributor but that still leaves little room. I haven't tried this yet with the new fuel hoses on perhaps these new ones are more flexible and give a little more play. In fairness, if you have your injectors out and the ram's horn off you are already very close to lifting the entire unit anyway so I doubt it will be a big problem.

This might just be related to the car not running very well.

Ok, so i replaced 3 spark plugson the left side. It is now running rough instead of horrible! The tick-tick and shaking seems to be solved, which at least rules out any serious engine damage thank god!

Some time this week i will do the fuel test with the glass jars to rule out bad injectors.

on facebook Alistair already explained how to do a rough fuel mixture reset, since mine is way off. Not having an o2 sensor or frequency valve, there is nothing to automatically dial it in other than the idle speed motor.

I can't remember if your car has had the catalytic converter removed or not. If you have, If you can take it to a garage with an exhaust gas tester, adjust the fuel mixture to 1.0 to1.5% co (carbon monoxide) and check that the hydrocarbons (hc) is less than approx 500ppm. If it is more then suspect another injector. Ideally it should be less than 200ppm.

Let me know if I can help further
