Hmm.. The thought "never doing these again" cropped up many times!

Haha! Cheers Alex. You'll know first hand the pain it is doing these. The thing I'm defo glad I did was allow all the holes to be re drilled perfectly by filling before making the mold. It's a pain each time but you get such a nice tight grip on every bolt and don't have them wobbling about and have the need to ptfe some.

There are still some imperfections but only very slight, and mainly because my originals were different I'm size. Did you have this too Alex?

My sizes were good. But had to work with a lot of moulding imperfections. A vacuum barrel is a good investment for casting things!

Yea it's quite common ain't it. Smooth on is good stuff but damn, the tiniest of air bubbles can cause havoc. I've yet to see a PERFECT flux box. Every single car has at least one box that is slightly off and has a few surface bubbles. I've actually spent the extra time to fill most of mine but some you just can't avoid :x

I would like to get a vacuum but I don't produce enough to really justify it. As long as I've just got bubbles on the surface that mounts to the car, I'm not really bothered to be honest.

This set of molds are pretty damn good. Some of the plasticine filled holes show on the final casts so they need a little sanding down, as well as one box having a slight warp, but other than that they're brill as the ratios were perfect.
