In Greece the import tax on a D is 32.000€ as a daily driver. Then annual tax is 1020€ and insurance about 800€

only people who actually pay the taxes may use that argument. From what i've heard greeks are excellent tax evaders.

Unfortunately Arran, Greece still imposes import tax (but not VAT) on vehicles even coming in from Europe. But Greek paid tax is good for all Europe further sale.

I am to sell my Delo to a Brit and he does not need to pay any taxes to get it registered in the UK. It's considered taxed eu goods.

No I can not drive it with a UK plate in Greece. Only for 6 months and only if I am a permanent UK resident and not Greek resident.

From what I hear everybody in Europe is trying to minimize his tax paid. It's not a greek virtue.
But the issue here is not the Greeks, but the government that gives out the opportunity to evade taxes!

Firstly the taxes are enormous. 50% income tax Sounds fair too you?

Or paying eu cars import tax?
Or paying 8000€ immobile tax annually for 600sq m that are not used?

For one reason only.., to hopefully get caught and pay a minimal amount to the agent to get away with it.

You see the fish always smells bad from the head... Not the tail;)

I was confused at first when I saw your screen and as I am also Alexander and I own 5992. The name the fives the nine.. Hehehe

Enjoy your d and get ready to get busy repairing;)

As for taxes... Your countries are a charm.

In Greece the import tax on a D is 32.000€ as a daily driver. Then annual tax is 1020€ and insurance about 800€

As an old timer just 600€ and 35€ annual insurance and tax free. But you can only drive it at club events.

So I guess you know which I preferred eh?

Ah name brother with confusingly like vin, i love it :D :D
Well, it should be in rather good shape, so i hope I can enjoy some driving befor i will start to get my hands dirty. :-P
The import tax for a D is 32000€??? Who the hell can afford that? I've been complaining on having to pay 25% tax to get my D in to Norway, but I will now shut up. :P

You should move to Norway Alex :D

Finaly getting it home

Postby Aleksander_5595 » Thu Mar 19, 2015 4:27 pm

So after almost a year of waiting the day was finally here. Optimistic my father and I left Oslo 5 pm sunday afternoon planning to arrive in Amsterdam monday morning. 1500 km turn out to be a bit longer than what it looks like on the map.. :P Especially with a huge trailer limiting the speed drastically.

We pulled thru, and arrived in Amsterdam 11 am monday morning. Getting to take a better look at the car, and for the first time turn the key in my own D was the best feeling ever.

We had to keep on the schedule, so now we had to load it on the trailer and head back home.

On our way back, we stopped by Ed and DMC Europe, but we had'nt announced our arrival since we did know if we would have the time, so he wasn't there. I got to peek thru the windows, nice place.
The rest of the way home was kind of straight forward, had to stop in Denmark to get some sleep. Tuesday morning 6 am we started up again. No problems or delays in the customs, and 5 pm tuesday we were back in Oslo.

Unloading the car, admire and giggle a bit, then I backed it in to the garage and headed for bed.

Congratulations, I hope you had a great (short) visit in my country. There are a lot of idiots on the roads.

Thats correct, those are the Goodyear nct's. Been looking on new tyres but not much to choose from.

Your country is beautiful. People had an mutch more laidback driving style than Germany.
But the hole opening bridge thing on the highway was kind of interesting.

Good to hear! Well we got a lot of water up north and huge ships, and since building high bridges or deep tunnels is very much expensive they just shut down the highways... This way only the car owners have to pay with their time instead of with taxes.
