BTTF Delorean Rear Quarter Panel

Postby otm831 » Tue Aug 04, 2015 12:13 pm

Hi everyone,

First off, :text-imnewhere: :D

I came across this site whilst doing a load of research which leads to this question....

I doing my own BTTF conversion of sorts of a delorean. I only have one rear left quarter panel, and I'm going to make an art piece of it (mount it on a frame, add the BTTF kit etc).

I've been looking around for parts, mainly the red capacitors, the slatted grille, and those weird hockey puck things, but to no real avail (I'm not familiar with casting/moulding parts).

Can I ask where people got their parts from, or if they made them themselves, if so, how would I got about the same (sizes would be nice ;) )?

I saw bob's prop shop site, but in the picture it shows capacitors (well, they are made to look like poor examples imo) with two terminals, not 3 that's needed to make them screen accurate (according to the A car that's on display), plus they are V. expensive also....

As for the Grille, again bob's prop shop has a replica part, screen accurate, but the price advertised ($99) isn't the price the paypal basket shows ($199) so I'm put off from that.

I greatly appreciate any help you could provide,

Thank you,

Owen.

I've got quite a few parts stashed for another time machine conversion. I would be willing to sell them on and have a set of unfinished flux boxes (white resin). They just need sanding down to perfection, painting, then adding the bolts and plates.

I've got the following:

Rear engine deck
Pair of slatted grills for rear left deck (just need mounting posts)
Mounting plate for rowan connectors in middle of dash
Rear window plate for outside of car
Mounting bracket for cobra struts (torpedos right side rear deck)

I can also get those rare purple p-clips for mounting the external wirings that runs over the arch and into the rear deck. They look so much better than the cheap inaccurate black ones.

I've done a few of these cars now so know them pretty well. ;) Drop me a pm if you want a chat.

Sorry to resurrect this,

However, anyone got any tips regarding what sort of hose / fittings i need for the drive side pod?

I'm talking to a hose specialist at the moment, but it would save a lot of time if i had a better idea...

Sorry to be a pain..
