Help needed to finish

Postby nbegg » Sun Oct 02, 2016 4:05 pm

After over two years of being under a sheet in the garage I have realised I need to pay someone to finish the project off. All that Les left is to get her running I have tried changing the metering heads injectors and still either over fuels or just won't deliver any. Anyone looking to earn some cash to finish this off?

Is it a continuation of the previous engine issue:

?

Are you still in Gateshead?

Could you recap and say what you've done exactly re 'changed the metering head' ?

On this post you said you named to get the engine running by re seating the brass pipe near the distributor.:

Might be worthwhile revisiting that again in case it had come loose.

Hi guys yes reseated the brass pipe also have another set of inlet manifolds etc. Yes continuation and am still in the north east but can borrow a trailer and drop off. It's just such a shame that I cannot get it going. I have installed new stainless exhaust clutch dash seats etc it's never ran right when came from Dallas / Miami and the more I do with the fuel the more I get baffled

I switched the metering head for two different ones, changed all the fuel pipes with braided and performed injector tests in glass jar but cannot seem to make sense of the results fuel just seems to come out of the injectors sporadically and when it did fire fuel was running out of the exhaust

To narrow down, we're the metering hears fully reconditioned by Ken Milns etc or second hand ones?

Hi
Just a suggestion, the best place you could trailer it to get it fixed would be Norfolk this coming weekend as that is where all the talent and parts will be available
If you did you could either get involved and do the work yourself with club guidance assistance (that will cost you plenty of beer, whiskey, vodka etc) plus parts
Is that what your looking for or do you just want to drop it off and pay someone to fix it?

Regards

Hi Dan

Happy to do either but at the moment getting to Norfolk this weekend might be a challenge so I think just dropping it off and parting with some hard earned to get it in some form of shape. I think it needs someone who knows these engines inside out.
