My opening pressure seems to be spot on, so the next step will be to crank the fuel pressure down a notch.

These instructions came with the fuel distributor. Is this relevant for my dribbling issue?

Even the brand new ones...

Fuel mixture adjustment set rich will cause this. A starting point setting is to adjust until the fuel comes from the injectors then back off until they stop, with the circular fuel flap pressed down by about 2mm.

Great news on the engine starting up, considering knowing that you've done the work yourself too :D

Regarding the instructions in my photo....
4. "threaded port..." is that referring to the hole where the injector lines go?

So basically it's a matter of adjusting the tension on the lever that operates the piston, until there's no flow at rest?

It's finally dawning on me. Sometimes I'm kinda thick. But I like to understand what I do and why, rather than doing things as per instructions.

The fuel mixture is adjusted via the threaded hole circled in the below image, using a 3mm allen key. Turn it anti clockwise until the injectors stop dribbling.

To do a full mixture setup the engine will need to be warm and you will need to use an exhaust gas analyser, set the mixture to 2% CO.

:Thanks everyone, as I said; it finally sunk in...

I have so many spares that I took the liberty of dissecting one one extra fuel metering unit that I had laying around. And then the mysteries of fuel mixture settings revealed themselves to be super simple.

I'm no longer afraid of turning that 3mm allen :D :shifty:

Cancelling the dribble was super easy, and I think the engine runs better now. No smoke even! Maybe the idle is a bit low, but that's it for now. This time I ran it with the air filter and everything assembled. I also ditched the hot wiring of the fuel pump, running from the #15 relay now as it should.

Totally boring video for most, but for me very fulfilling to watch. :violin:

The engine is done!!!!! I can't believe it!!! I made it!!! Success!!!
