"What the heck is this" goes in the fuel tank - it is the 106683 vent tube.

Replace clutch slave
Replace ignition distributor
Replace ignition wires
Refit coolant pipes in valley
Replace vac hoses
Re install wiring harness to the connections in the valley and temp sender on the back right
Check at multiplug you have resistance from the thermistor connection
Replace water pump
Replace spark plugs
Refit the rest fit new injectors, seals and clips to new fuel lines with new copper washers
Then fit them in to engine then into fuel distributor
Throttle linkage last

I think that's right

I've officially started!

Started with the front brakes. How do I extract the pistons?

Is the MC supposed to come off after I undid the two nuts?

Is the MC disconnected from the pedal? If it is smash it with a hammer.

Put the calipers back together then pump grease into them. That'll get the pistons out most of the way then use pliers and a thick rag to pull them out all the way.

The thin gaskets (you mean O rings?) Seal the pistons. The larger ones are dust shields. Once you have the pistons out you'll see what I mean. Good luck pal.

The brake MC looks rusty and is stuck, so I caved in and ordered a new one, a Saab unit. Readily available here in Scandinavia. Tie rod ends have also been ordered.

I still hope to rebuild the calipers.

Clutch MC looks brand new, so I'm just gonna replace the slave and take it from there.

My master plan for the moment is: brakes, clutch and then fuel system.

Gotta figure out a way to pop the pistons out of the calipers though...

I'll start this thread with an "identity this part"- quiz, and fill you in on the project as we go along.

Picture 7 is the vent pipe. It pushes into the fuel tank into the smaller orifice on top of the fuel tank. It is inserted from the top. I think I may have posted a similar thread on here - or maybe it was facebook?

Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated!

Today I successfully popped the caliper pistons using pressurized air. It took all of 8bar pressure, and then they came out like a gunshot!!!

After that I honed the cylinders and cleaned the pistons, luckily no rust.

One caliper done, three to go. Next one will be quicker.
