Excuse me? What am I missing?

I'm not aware of having the springs off?

The go on the throttle spool (although only the upper spring is visible). I noticed in your last video that the spool appears to be missing the spring.

All right! I thought only the automatic transmission cars had them.

I have two complete spare engines, so I'll look into my pile of parts to see what I can find

Both the manual and the auto have the springs on the throttle spool.

The auto has an additional plate/cable on top of the spool for the auto box.

I'm into interior now. Micro progress so far. I'm gonna tear all of it out. This is how far I got:

On to the binnacle. The instruments will be replaced. I have a spare set. I also need to fix the cracks. A po had some fabric glued on to it. Seems like a feasible idea.

I'm replacing the whole instrument cluster, but I'm also trying to keep the correct odo reading. That requires some surgery.

Got all the instruments cleaned up and all bulbs checked tonight. The odo reading is finally correct too.

The trip reset pin needs replacing, but I can't figure out how. And the glass needs cleaning.

That's where we're at now.
