While I was cleaning the engine mounts I had a look at the original earth braid strap that attached on to the mount.
It Was all black and green and looking very poorly but after a good bit of cleaning it came up very nicely I think.

If only it would stay like that ;)

I couldn't resist mocking it up on the painted chassis for the laugh to see what it would look like and check the earthing capability was still good, which it was!

The wheel hubs were de rusted in deox c in prep for the plating. The exposed threads were then cleaned of the years of dirt and rust.
Then chased all the threads.

The wheel nuts were also cleaned and thread chased and then polished up a bit.
Very tiring work on the arms and wrists but worth it, A surprising amount of dirt and rust came out of the threads .
The threads are all nice and smooth now ..

Next to do was some of the engine internals like timing chains, oil pump, tensioners sprockets etc. Trying to get everything clean as a whistle in prep for the rebuild..
