I eventually found a pic of that tap / socket modification for the rear upper link threaded hole that I mentioned earlier in case it helps anyone..

1/2" 20tpi tap welded to a 9mm socket from a narrow or deep 1/4" socket set.

Next on to the rear outboard shafts. My original ones were previously butchered off and were damaged on the machined race surface.

Thankfully arran had some ready to go and sorted me out in double quick Time. Brilliant service as always :thumbsup: :dance:

Gave them a clean, and wire brushed the splines with a dremel very carefully to get it all back to clean metal. Also thread chased all the female threads.
Then a bath of deox c from bilt and hamber - really great stuff non toxic and no chemicals just easts rust and leaves good metal behind. Brilliantly simple science but it works! 8-)
Adding hot water speeds up the process alot

Had some spare paint left over so used it on the engine mounts . Some more Cleaning, degreasing and wire brushing back to bare metal ..
