I know what I would be doing Mec... cutting up what’s left and flog to a company who make keyrings out of oddities.

It’s not really an option now Al as I’ve spent over £700 getting it striped, I’d like to save the original really as mad as that sounds, It’s worse than Alex thought but I don’t think its quite as bad as his original one that he repaired so hopefully it will be ok

Yea there pretty pants mate, once they are reinforced with Arran’s laser cut plates (thanks Arran) I’m thinking I might get em galvanised to stop any future rot and then powder coat of course

Epic stuff mec brilliant going! at least you know what your dealing with and you can make an informed decision, the chassis is bad... Arran (Dixon) over here was doing his chassis nearly the same time I done mine. I remember his was as bad if not worse than yours, he had to replace all the front section, the rear trailing arm double skin and the rear cradle basically 50% of the chassis so it can be done... His frame was bad from sitting out from the previous owner, clutch/brake fluid leak and the normal rust you couldn't see until it was stripped back
Best of luck with it whatever you decide keep positive!

I don't see any reinforcing plates for the LCAs for sale one the website. Does Arran sell them " under the table" ? If they are for sale there is no point making them myself

Hi Shane
Thanks for the info, I hope that we can save mine, if mines not as bad as Arran’s then that hopefully is a good omen, fingers crossed :dmcdoors:

The yellow car is a Ford Puma, I’m assuming you don’t have them in New Zealand ?
The zinc yellow edition was made in 2000 for the millennium of which there are only 1000 made, my car in our club is known as the chavved Banana and is lengendary around these parts ;)
