Hello from Kassel, Germany! Just brought the 1981 DeLorean, manual, gray interior. The car is still in Houston at DMCH. Hopefully will be with me in June!

The car was refreshed by DMCH in 2011 and sold to the previous owner from Dallas. Some work has been done since then:
2012: Crankshaft Seal, Clutch.
2015: Paint touch-ups, door seals, some electric parts and switches, bulbs, torsion bar adjustment, door struts.

The car sat for a few months and did not start. I got the cost estimate from DMCH (about 3500 - 4000 USD) and they will perform some work to prepare the car for shipping.
1. K111143A Major Service Kit (4 Year 30,000 Miles)
2. K118674 Complete Hose Kit - they will install part of the hoses and I will do the rest in Germany.
3. 107000 Fuel Pump and Sender Module and tank cleaning
.......a. damaged fuel pump: https://photos.app.goo.gl/8GcmE3NLK8g775sM9
4. 106085 25 Amp Circuit breaker AC Fan Control – intermittently working the fan regulator on the dash?

The sales tax comes on top.

I will order some parts from DMCH to be shipped with the car:

2. 110443 DASH END CAP LH (GREY) – 150 USD

3. 110440 DASH PAD (GRAY) – 399 USD
.......a. small cracks on the dash https://photos.app.goo.gl/jYaSbCAsRd6ubMAV8
.......b. As per DMCH, the parts are newly manufactured. Hope it fits in the car for transport...
4. 100408 REAR SHOCK (PAIR) – 75 USD

Hi and welcome

Sounds like you have done a lot of planning , if you really want to make an upgrade to the car you should change the exhaust to a free flow system available from DeLorean Go with new gaskets and studs

Personally I wouldn’t do anything with the springs other than fit the standard lowering front springs available from DGO

Also check the balljoints, if they have not been changed then they require changing and only the correct type should be fitted Which are available again from DGO

Thanks Alistair! Yes I have heard the exhaust when I was in Houston at DMCH - sounds really nice! Will think about it!
Thanks for the tip with the front springs. I presume rears should stay? Also not sure which rear shocks to get and the pads/brake disks. Will see after I get the car.
Deloreango seems like has everything I need and its shipping from UK so I will not have to pay taxes....yet :)

P.S. man, I can't stop looking at your avatar. :))

Hi

I would get SPAX all round; what exhaust is fitted?
If it has the stock system you should change it for a massive improvement in power and sound plus less heat in engine bay.

What pads discs does it have ? Is there anything wrong with them?

Standard exhaust. Yes, exhaust and suspension are on the list, probably next year (over the winter).
currently standard brakes. yes they are locked up, need to overhaul the calipers. might go for the vented in front...
