Very nice, great to hear its all aligned back true again, a big leap forward. Can't imagine it taking too long to galv and powdercoat it but it'll be so worth it!

Well 4 1/2 months since having a running Delorean and making the call whilst doing the front LCA's (Lower Control Arms) to do a body off resto to sort the Chassis.

Chassis has been dropped off the tub, engine and all ancillary parts removed. Shipping to Alex straightened, fixed, rust cut out and replaced and is now with the Galvanizers and powder coaters, eta 2-3 weeks.

So in theory I should have it back 5 months to the day give or take a week of deciding to do it. Not bad considering I was only stripping it evenings and weekends and Alex has been rammed with work and doing it on his precious days off.

Alex has made sure it still lines up with the jig.

Last shot outside of Alex's place I assume :)

I am guessing this is at the galvanizers.

Its a tricky one, I would say getting the engine out is most of the effort disconnecting electrics etc. The rest is fairly simple and in about 6 batches of items. (steering, Radiator, fluid/fuel pipes, brake pipes etc) If you can avoid doing it do... but the question should be will you ever need to frame off it.

As its awesome access as you can see in my pics to the suspension, steering, brake cylinder etc etc which I assume a lot of which you are going to be needing to do anyway.

I recall yours didn't look too bad on the pics, just need to be careful as it can all look good with the epoxy hiding some horrors and its rusting from inside out. You see the way this one is bottom right, on the left edge.

No rush to decide really, I can honestly say it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Where were they both done, so we may compare to ErIC?

I went for RAL7005, However the trailing arms I had done in 7037. Apparently there isn't a lot in it.

Bottom line Alex recommended 7005 so I have gone with that, but in the meantime I had followed Rich's advice and had my trailing arms done in 7037.

Alex talked me out of :spax: Yellow for the lot :)

yup, Sorry missed that query.. Yeahh BMT is just down the road from Alex, he knows them gets a good rate and can take it from his to them without us doing a 9 hour trip so it works out well.

Alex then BMT. Given the logistics, That makes total sense in terms of getting it coated post repair. So the only different suppliers in the process between MEC and ErICS chassis were the strippers who dipped / stripped them. I suppose that choice is purely logistics in terms of taking it and then collecting it to go for repair based on your locations?
