All righty then lets strap her on and away we go.
To where you might ask.... The stripping place in Nottingham....
79 miles there and 74 miles back... I lost 5 miles on the M1 which I will never get back, thats the second time I have screwed up crossing the M1 and ended up on it so must nail that for the next time.
Friendly chap eyeballed it as a Lotus chassis straight away and helped me lift it off. He showed me some other chassis and recommended zinc plating which is apparently the in thing now and better than standard galvanising. Not sure about that will likely just follow Mec and Rich.
As we left her.....
Apparently the first stage is a 500 degrees oven, to burn all the crap off.... I was under the impression it was acid as per the docs.
Prostrip Ltd. Has developed Phos-Strip™ a chemical dip process for the removal of paint, rust and underseal from complete car shells or individual panels. Its chemical formulation strips away contaminants from all internal and external areas. But the chap doing it didn't seem to think so.
I was hoping to get it ready for the weekend but I think it will be into next week when they get it done so it may be the week after for the tortuous 5 hour drive to the East Coast...
I am not looking forward to that one..
I just noticed 3 weeks to the day from deciding to do the Chassis off, to getting it to pro strip, not bad for evenings and weekends.
