Its coming together a lot more now.

I had to remove the gearstick for the 3rd time to get at one of the nuts below it :)

Image

Trailing Arms bolted on and zip tied in place pending the rear wheel assembly.

I have it on these bails of bedding which are in turn on little trolley trucks. Its the best thing I have done with it, I can just pull the Chassis around the shed to get access to where I need to easily. Its made such a difference in trying to jump over it or squeeze around it to get the 13m spanner every time.

Engine mountings back where they belong..

Image

Radiator and first wheel assembly on.

Image

Pipework on the LHS has been a pig to get held in place a its so heavy, a combination of additional zip ties, and brackets helped.

Image

All the underneath piping is now complete with new hoses.

Image

Making sure threads are ok for the remaining stuff.

Image

Even time for a play with the advent calendar

Image

Next up is the spring compression and fitting them which I hate doing as I had no end of issues previously. Once I read the guide from Mike Bosworth it was easier.

Fascinating regarding the changes on the washer config on the upper control arms. The manual is incorrect and should be updated. The DMC explodaview is also misleading.

Best I can see following Mr Gradys post on DMCtalk is

BOLT -- Large Washer -- control arm -- 2 shim washers--Chassis--2shim washers -- Control arm -- Large Washer -- NUT

Thanks Mike, I am hopefully over the hump of it.

Finally managed to release the aircon hose from the tub as well (3 months soaking in WD40) so well chuffed with that.

Not sure if you put the strengthening plates for the extensions back on yours, I did but aligning them was a nightmare.

Wowzers, I cant believe I haven't posted on this thread in so long.

Rest assured I have been chipping away at it but more of on a back burner until our week off was cancelled so what was to be a nice week by the lakes turned into resto finish week :)

Needless to say after a very hot Friday in which I sweated buckets the engine is back in.. WOOP.

Just some tightening up and checking to do before the big drop :) Well hopefully not too big a drop.

Check out this little fella I found on the outside of our house whilst fixing a door.. literally on the brickwork in the daylight.
