I hope to get this little lot back together tomorrow, but knowing my Mrs, she will change my name to "can-you-just" and finish up giving me a load of other non essential jobs. ....

Wish me "and my aching back" luck !

I forgot to add. .. The one bad thing about mighty auto's is that it's a pain to move the crank to top dead Centre. .. I've had to use a chain oil filter removal tool around the crank pulley. Un1 manual owners can laugh with joy that they can just Wang it in gear and move the car forwards. .

revenge will be the arthritis on the left knee in old age. .... Well I hope not :)

I'll shut up now and go for a beer.

Looking very good there Nick. Looks like everyone is getting their Ds resurrected at the moment :D

I have this to come on my D as it needs a new waterpump, so it will be a case of 'while i'm in there'

Looking very clean and tidy in there AB! How much adjustment did your valve clearances need, if any?

Rejoice rejoice she's back together and running :)

I also replaced the vac pipes with the silicon set I only bought 4 years ago!

Jez:
Cylinder 4 inlet was 0.05 widened
cylinder 3 4 6 exhausts 0.05 widened
If I could do it againdI'd set the exhaust valve clearances to 20 instead of 25 as they do sound slightly tappety. Maybe I'm splitting hairs because I did the timing belt on mrs t v6 vectra turbo diesel and I'm comparing that newish engine to this one.

I now have a set of fully tested injectors, silicon hoses and a volvo distributor. It does Rev nice.

I'll give it a fettle tomorrow as I need to tidy the garage and tools away before my ocd kicks in and my back gives way.

I thoroughly enjoyed working on the old d though as I didn't have pressure of not finishing it at the weekend.
