There is always something - it might be printed on. You will need a very bright light to see it though... it won't be easy when it's on the car.

OK - well it certainly isn't from the UK, and isn't one of the DMCH old ones, that's for sure. What would be interesting to see is how much thread is above the nut, if there is some way of seeing that on the other one when it is still installed? We can try to work out from that if the nut it bottoming out on the threads perhaps.
After you installed the Nylok nut the first time, did you ever undo it and redo it? Or just put it on once and leave it....?

Why the washer? What size was it? Is it stainless? There is a chance you could have fouled the taper, or if it's stainless it could have shattered...?
There shouldn't be a washer there.

Also that doesn't look like it is tightened up.. not enough thread showing.

Yes stainless washer, I thought it was good, looks like I made a mistake, when I see its shape now

Are you using any anti galvanic compound between the steel ball joint and the Ali arm ?
