48 Hour Film Challenge

Postby jerzybondov » Sun Jul 12, 2009 11:14 pm

This is what I needed the time-travel-esque props for - in the end we had a great art director who created some great flashing props!

Thanks to Dan for being the resident D consultant on set yesterday - cleanliness and set up of my car is all down to him :-D

Just for info - how the challenge works is that you get given a title and a genre on Friday at 7pm and you have to write, plan, resource, shoot, edit and deliver a film by 7pm Sunday. We just got ours in in time...

Our title was: I Just Can't Understand

And the genre was: sci-fi.

That was truly impressive - well done! Nice little nod to Red Dwarf on the "time slip"

Cheers guys... I think the competition gets judged in 2 weeks. Some of the other entries are up here... http://www.londonbridgefestival.com/promos/48hrslist.php

We're really pleased with how it came out - the D looks great on camera of course, and as a prop that explains what's going on with the story it was rather useful too!

Blimey Gez that came out great. I wasn't expecting that after seeing the filming taking place!! The right editing is an amazing thing!

Thanks Dan! Not just the editing though - taking all that time over filming means that it's good stuff that you get to edit in the first place :D

And being good mates with a successful film score composer helps too - the music on there is from Hannibal Rising, Stardust, and some yet to be released films (and it's all rights-cleared).

Haha - not all the time! We paid to do this - the stuff I actually get paid to do most of the time is nowhere near this cool

Its still cooler than f***ing around with machinery all day, and bloody good money involved too I imagine. Especially if this film thing takes off?
