After a good clean and some inspection, I have posted more photos of the car here
http://www.delorean.co.uk/4748.htmlSome notes:
I have posted photgraphs of the two main dents that I've found. The bottom corner of the leading edge of the passenger door has sustained an impact at some point, and it really is quite difficult to notice it, especially when the door is closed. There are some very small point dents on the bonnet that are so small that it's almost impossible to photgraph them, and the sort of dents a lot of DeLorean bonnets display. I only found them while cleaning the bonnet in direct sunlight. However UNLIKE many DeLoreans, the dreaded "X" is not visible..
The louvers have been broken at the right rear corner as shown in the photo. Ideally this needs to be bonded properly, then sanded back and painted. On the flip side, the engien cover is very rare in that the original catch works and the "back" hasn't been broken.
I will be replacing the steering column, door headliners, door struts, handbrake lever rubber (missing), full throttle microswitch (stuck), windscreen wiper washer nozzle, wiper blades, spark plugs, oil and filter, air filter, gearshift pivot bolt (loose), bonnet release cable and headlights.
I will be adjusting the handbrake, tightening up the exhaust heatshielding (rattles), adjusting the passenger door and fitting my "invisible" foglight modifcation.
The engine starts on the first turn of the key hot and cold, the cooling fans work perfectly on both AC and with the engine heat. The AC compressor, windscreen and carpets have been replaced at some point, as has the radiator for a three-row "performance" rad. The fuel tank sender is brand new, as are the tyres.
I've already had one viewing and his reaction was that for the asking, "it's better than I expected".
