I got mine through Footman James last month. Cost me a total of £301.94 for the year, classic car - unlimited milage policy, full UK and EU breakdown cover included etc. I didn't think that was too bad considering I'm only 25.

Gez, she is finished and I'm hopefully picking her up from Chris this weekend. DVLA were delaying things but they finally assigned a reg to her this week. They put her on a W plate, which is wrong (should be an X) but I can't be arsed to argue the case, I'd rather get the car on the road and start enjoying it. It's been a long wait since I bought her back in October.

I'll get plenty of pictures posted up once I've got her back home.

Is your car sorted yet?

Mike etc you are welcome to talk about it, I am interested.

How much did you spend on the car if you don't mind me asking? and what was wrong with it when you got it?

I jsut want a rough Idea of how much I'm going to have to spend and how long I might have to wait (you said october so 5-6 months).

Mike imported his hence the time involved, also with imports there's a few things you have to do to get them on the road over here (like headlights, fog light, MOT, registration etc) even if they're in perfect nick.

Mike - like you I got a W reg, which is technically incorrect - but you can't argue with them about it! Funny they'd have a system (Aug-Jul) and then randomly disregard it when it comes to imports...

My car's not sorted yet - steering rack getting refurbed, evaporator core getting welded, fuel accumulator in the post - going to be a little while yet!

As Gez said, I imported mine from California, which is why it took some time. The car actually arrived into the UK towards the end of January, so it hasn't been here all that long. As for what work had to be done on the car, I beleive it was pretty much just the fuel system that needed looking at, however I added quite a few other things to the todo list, to update/improve the car. I will make a new topic once I've picked up the car and taken a good few pictures, and I will list the work I had done on mine for those who are interested.

Gez, I know, it doesn't make any sense, even though they had a letter from Chris W which had the month and year of build written on it. Ah well, I don't really mind, main thing is the car is now UK registered and can be driven legally.

Any ETA on when you will be getting yours back? Speaking of your car though, that reminds me, do you happen to remember if Dave H had many starter motors in stock when you purchased yours? I may need one for mine at some point in the future.

No particular ETA on mine. As long as I have it back before Eurofest I don't mind. I'm sure Dave H has loads of starters, but give him a shout...

Hi Mega

Importing does sound like the best bet, maybe we could have a discussion thread on some of the DeLoreans on Ebay in the US
