FOR SALE AGAIN - VIN 16723 (Auto / LPG)

Postby arranj » Fri Jun 17, 2011 2:03 pm

£14.5K!!! (here is the original thread: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=1539 )

"1983 DeLorean DMC-12
Black Interior, Automatic transmission
This is a very nice example, runs and drives well, The interior is immaculate, new seat covers replaced when it was imported a few years ago. Many receipts for work done and lots of new parts fitted by the previous owners. The frame is in great condition, and the engine is very healthy. The car was proffessionally converted to run on LPG!! The only conversion known in the UK.
The Stainless steel body is in very good condition except for the drivers door which has a dent in the roof............"

I remember that car from when thingy when that actor extra from extra from Star Wars blokey owned it (I forgot his name)

As far as I remember it needed new fuel distributor, ran rich as hell and had auto gearbox issues (well the owner kept asking me about some problems with it). Also if I remember right too the LPG gas ring looked like it would constrict air flow so would best to run on the lpg all the time.

Hope they were sorted prior to the sale and I am sure they would have been.
I wonder how quick it was to add a new door:

Bringing it to EuroTec would be a great opportunity to sell it (watch out Wheeler Dealers for some competition!) and I would love to see it on the rolling road !

Good luck with the sale :D

I heard it has been garaged so the bodywork should be in good order. You see some that have gone all mouldy left to the elements.

Well, I agree, from the angle the pictures are taken it looks like the door is straight, but:

I think we can assume that is the original door. Well at least the same as was on the car in this particular accident. The headliner hasn't been put back either. But I reckon it's been straightened by hand or something? With the doors open it looks good!

I know that car's been to Chris N before, you can certainly see that the rest of the bodywork certainly looks pretty straight 8-)

In another life that car was once painted, for some reason.....:

So does anyone know how much Aaron actually sold it for, wasn't he looking for around 7.5k?

Well you can ask him on Friday Simon!

But yes, he was looking for "just over £7000", so I don't think that is a bad guess.

How much does a car wash cost these days?

I've put in an offer by email, but gotta be honest it wasn't 14.5k! Wish I had twenty so I could shake mr brewers hand instead!

If you weren't interested at £7500 then why pay more now? What's changed?!

I have heard a lot of different numbers for that car, none of them close to that. You might be surprised! :dmcdoors:
