Hi everyone,
New member here. My name is Rob and I have wanted a Delorean for about 25 years now. I'm a little behind on all the latest upgrades that the cars can have these days so I thought it was best to ask here before I go ahead and start looking at cars for sale.
I'm looking to spend around 25k. Would this get me a reliable car? I know these cars are geting on in years so reliable is all relative but I want something that isn't going to cause too many problems. I restore classic bikes and cars as a hobby (used to be professional) but would like a car that I wont have to do too much work on for a change as this will be my own personal car.
I'm in Surrey so somewhere not a million miles away would be great but I'm more than willing to travel a bit for the right car.
Idealy I'd like a manual with grey interior.

I would thought £25k would be good enough. But even at that price bracket as you say "reliable" is relative. Tyson is selling in that sort of range: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=69 - although not officially listed yet - and he, like me, has never called the AA, which is quite a rare thing I can tell you! 8-)

Other than that there are two autos available, one here: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=3646 and Paul Birks's car I think. And also a right hand drive, but for more money.
Pretty sure UK-wise that sums up the current situation. :dmcdoors:

£25 k for tysons car is a good buy

Like him you could drive it to the south of France anyday !

Really starting to like the sound of Tysons car :D
Are there any pics here of it? Thanks for the link arranj. It's really the manual that I'm after. I always worry about auto's in older cars. How are the auto boxes in the DMC's?

I saw the right hand drive one in the UK. It's just a bit out of my price range.

I'm sure he'll make himself known soon enough. This is Tyson and Maria's car (old picture - but you'll see the numberplate in a lot of the club pictures):

It was previously from Chris Nicholson, the DeLorean master, who carried out some restoration work on it, has lots of upgrades, stainless exhaust, etc, and as Bozzzy says - has done a couple of long journeys with no problems!
Still - it is a DeLorean though! ;)

Thank you for the pic. The car looks beautiful! Would it be wise for me to PM Tyson or should I just wait do you think?
I've also been looking at the RHD one that is for sale for 38k I think it was. It looks like a lovely car but is this the sort of price I should be expecting to pay for a really good one?
By the way, when I said reliable, I meant for a 30 year old car. I'm not trying to find the impossable or anything. I just want something that has been well looked after :)
