Good UK DMC Wanted

Postby Wjsteenson » Sat Mar 23, 2013 2:34 pm

Hi,

I am based in N Ireland and am on the lookout for a good DMC based in the UK if possible. I have looked at a few over the last couple of years but have decided that I am definitely in the market for one now.

Preferably Manual and Lowish miles would be good, any help in sourcing one would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

I wouldn't be too hung up on the miles thing - you're MUCH better off with a car that's been driven and sorted than one that's sat and had little done to it. Most of the good UK cars have all had mileage dependent wearables like bushes and shocks changed anyhow.

Hi Jonathan

I know of a manual coming up for sale v soon, had a whole of host of work done and a very interesting history for around the £20k mark.
I would steer clear of a low mile DeLorean considering they are over 30 years old.

You just missed Paul's car, right there in Belfast. Just sold.

It depends what your definition of low miles is.

I'm not sure what the rest of the guys think, but for me, anything under 15k is low. 20k-50k miles is probably the norm but many would consider that low for a 30 year old car.

More important than total miles is the miles travelled in the past 5 or so years. The more, the better frankly.

This one sounds good around 20k would be good, I'd appreciate if u could keep me posted,

As for the miles thing I suppose you all have a point but would ideally like one less than 40k if possible

Thanks guys

my view is mileage has no relevance, there is no way of telling the true reading anyway.
Personally I would buy a non runner and rebuild it because most are clogged up around the liners from sitting idle for years . TT

What sort of spec are you looking for?

Are you after a project to restore or a full runner with everything working?
