Our club has men everywhere :)

The car is sporting Ed's strut's all round now, not oem as stated in the original advert. I guess they figured drooping doors would have detracted from it somewhat. Passenger door seal also appears to have been replaced.

The car is as immaculate as it looks, it's absolutely pristine inside and out.

The above list of pictures was too much for my faithful iPad3. It completely locks up. Perhaps send thumbnails next time instead of full HQ pictures?

OK, who nicked the lighter? Our 'man on the ground'?
So did the original purchaser make money? If he paid US$26k, allowing for inflation, did £57k (£45k take home) make him any money? Was it a good investment?

In 2000, the exchange rate was about 1.5, so that $26k purchase cost him about 17300 gbp.

According to this site:

http://www.measuringworth.com/ukcompare ... ue.php?use[]=CPI&use[]=NOMINALEARN&year_late=2000&typeamount=17333&amount=17333&year_source=2000&year_result=2015

that would be worth between 26-30k gbp in 2014

Whether that's a good investment depends on you own personal investment strategy. You may have gotten a better return on a Group B rally car imho.

Edit - I just re-read your post. The Original Owner possibly paid $26 for it, but the selling owner paid between $25-30k for it in 2000. So the selling owner did much better in 15 years than the original owner did in the first 18
