Came out very well considering it used to be painted, strong price for an ex-painted car though

Not really, I have seen several ex painted cars fetch good money before , including two of mine... And besides if Chris Nicholson has been near the stainless it will be flawless so I can't see what difference it would make to resale.

Agreed especially with the Chris N touch, it looked really good, ex-painted cars seem to hold stigma though, I was toying with looking at that red one which was local recently which seems to have disappeared? I was advised best maybe to leave it painted, I suppose there is always that "whats under the paint" factor especially with the left wing being in short supply, memories of classic car rescue come to mind.

Painted cars can hold stigma, if the history is unknown... But if the paint is off and sorted...
Can't see why it hold stigma

The red one was only recently imported I believe... Without a documented history as you say... You never know what's under the paint

I guess it would depend on the method and quality of paint removal. A hack job with a belt sander and it's probably worth less than it was when painted. A careful chemical or soda blasting removal followed up by a regrain (particularly by Chris), and it may be better than 70% of the cars out there.

Totally agree, a rebrush by Chris N has to add value
