We turnover 5.4 million a year getting drunk, & "making mistakes," so lets wait and see if this is another one?:) I do agree they are "awful cars" but the story behind them make them what they've become, & I think fromm the interest we've already had from viewings, it will sell in the end! it's just a bit of fun isn't it? I'm not bothered if it sells or not really, I guess i'm lucky in that respect, and still enjoy the Ferrari embarrassment when I park up at shows! We can keep it for years if necessary? If I get really stuck, I'll take your advise and sell it for 10k on eBay!!! :)

Hi Fred,

He wasn't saying you were drunk and made a mistake when you bought it.

Arran was pointing out the potential buyers in the market, and your price tag of £40k would appeal to the number 3 group.

The Ferrari embarrassment is a joy to behold I agree.

Who knows in two years time they may be creeping up towards that figure for the car you have.

Cheers Alistair, "crossed wires" my end I think, apologies! It will be interesting to see if your right, (I hope so!)

Kindest,
Nigel.

Yeah I was just saying I was in category 3 when I bought mine - not altogether ill-informed, but definitely drunk on eBay :D

I saw this in the Aston Barclay Chelmsford auction catalogue this morning.
Monday nights at Chelmsford Auction are a real "bottom feeder" affair, real tatty bangers from the likes of Car Giant, most of it End of Life. You do have to be truly multi lingual to converse with the other patrons too. Not a trade sale as such, mainly public - British and otherwise.
To put that car in this sale is like trying to sell a Ming vase at a boot sale.
The main sale is Wednesday when the more serious trade buyers are present or online which is I would guess where it will end up, they do sell the odd Aston, Porsche and Bentley amongst the standard fare mainly from the Spire Auto Group who have Audi, BMW and Jag franchises so take the odd premium car in chop, but it is still an odd choice of auction for a D, I can only imagine Nigel is hoping a trader with no prior knowledge of these cars will stick his hand up thinking they are rare and a novelty for a a bit of personal fun, not knowing how many there are for sale at the moment or the prices.
It will be interesting to see how it goes I might take a ride over but I don't know if my "jabs" are up to date.

We bow to your superior knowledge Mark!

"real tatty bangers" - reminds me of a website I was on last night ;)

Just pointing out what an odd choice of auction. That said on a Wednesday there are plenty of well heeled individuals there that may fancy a toy. That's his best bet I reckon. Often the arm overtakes the brain at auction!

Arran, you used to be so prim and proper. The perverts (no names necessary) have dragged you down. :naughty:
