In a surprise to literally no one here.

Back as a classified this time. Good luck with the sale at £46.5k I think perhaps just a tad optimistic.

:) Surely you're not suggesting he was getting his mates to bid it up? ;)

Just to be pedantic, but isn't 9889 miles really 9900 and not 9800? Makes a difference when you are asking for 46.5k for the finest car evAr that has definitely always been garaged by all of it's previous owners.

I would never suggest such a thing.

But yes - this is what has happened. :D :D

It’s back on eBay for £39,995. Valued at £45k...

I did contact them to see if there was any negotiation, because I am actually looking to buy this year...... but no he wants £40k

I wished him good luck with the sale and mentioned I’m actually going to look at another DeLorean, and got a rather weird reply............

That one will never be the quality of this mine which is museum standard.
Be careful as if its not perfect it will never grow in value.
I wish you all tge best

What a strange thing to say to a buyer! He doesn’t even know what car I’m going to look at!! Lol

Anyway, this one is well out of my price bracket.

You wouldn't want a 'museum' quality car anyway. That means everything is original, so expect to drop some serious coin in upgrading parts if you wanted to get it to a condition where it was actually usable.

I'm not sure what you have in mind in terms of budget, but a better option for you may be importing from the US. For example, Max has just imported his car, which he got back on his driveway for £22-23k all in. viewtopic.php?f=56&t=5670&start=10#p75456

Thanks Mike - and I totally agree.
I may not own one yet, but I’ve been around the carong enough to know a little more than these guys.
They can back to me and said the car is located in Palma, Majorca at the moment.... so I couldn’t even look at it if I wanted.

I am looking at another car at the moment with a view to purchase - but it would be in a few months time, whereby he seller and I will both be in a position to proceed.

I’m sill looking in the meantime, and yes I’ve also looked across the pond, but as yet can’t see the right car for the right money all inc.

My budget would be £30k - BUT I want to spend less than that so I have some money in the kitty for any immediate items to address.... especially the case if I import.

Do you have a particular spec in mind, or are you not fussed? e.g. black or grey interior, manual or automatic gearbox. Then there is bonnet style etc? Are you looking for one that needs fixing up, or one that is mostly good to go?

If you are interested in importing, keep an eye on the US forum (dmctalk) mostly private sales on there (non trade/dealer). Craigslist is also worth looking at, and there are search sites available that will search all craigslist pages, rather than you having to search local pages manually (although craigslist is potentially more risky due to fraudulent adverts - I'd definitely want to see the car in person if buying from a craigslist advert), other options are Beverly Hills Car Club (BHCC) although they do like to charge a premium for cars which don't necessarily warrant the high price tag. Then you've got eBay.com but have the downside of having to contend with shill bidding etc.

I’ve always wanted a grey interior, manual with gas flap hood.
BUT - now I’m in a position to move, all I actually want is a good car.
So the one I’m looking at is a black interior auto, flat hood..... but it’s a good car, that’s been looked after by someone I know....
(I know all the potential issues with autos and the upgrades to the governor, so I’m good there)

I’m all over BHCC and sent them an enquiry, but no response yet. And I’m also checking DMC talk and the yahoo groups. There is one on eBay that looks ok for $33k usd

But as I say, now I’m here I just want a good car, that’s pretty much good to go. I’m ok with doing the odd jobs required - I used to own a 1977 Scimitar GTE that my Dad and I worked on. So this would be another thing for us both to enjoy in and out of the garage.
(It will live in my garage of course!!! Lol )
