Hi,

My RHD DeLorean is going to be auctioned at The Beaulieu Sale on 1st Sep 2018.

The details are as follows:
Lot 612
1981 DELOREAN DMC12 COUPÉ
Registration no. MGJ 126Y Chassis no. SCEDT26T6BD005730
£ 10,000 - 15,000

THE BEAULIEU SALE
Collectors' Motor Cars & Motorcycles and Automobilia
1 Sep 2018, 15:30 BST
BEAULIEU, NATIONAL MOTOR MUSEUM

https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/24877/lot/612/

Incidentally, I was talking with one of the authors of 'DeLorean - Celebrating the Impossible' (Christopher Parnham & Andrew Withers), and was told that my car is featured in their book. Apparently, there are also several photographs.

Would anyone who has this book be able to send me photos/scans of the relevant pages? It would be absolutely fascinating for me to read the authors' thoughts, and to enjoy the pictures. Naturally, I would be extremely grateful for your assistance.

Regardless, if you choose to go along to the sale, I hope you have an excellent day.

Kind regards,
Martin

Interesting car! What kind of RHD conversion did it have? I notice the car has the euro-spec tail lights - but I thought those Wooler Hodec RHD cars were all early VINs, and this is an late 81 car?

Could be an interesting buy, doesn't look like it's had much love.

I hope whoever buys it keeps the Euro Spec tail lights, side repeaters etc... I know they are not to everyone's tastes but they are part of the history and not many cars are left with these in place.

Thank you for your kind words.

I am planning on supplying Bonhams with some further details about the car presently. However, my understanding is that it is not a conversation.

If you have a copy of Chris Parnham & Andrew Withers 'DeLorean - Celebrating the Impossible', you can read about the full history there.

I hope that information is of help.

They were all RHD conversions and naturally by design every car was LHD.

Its a shame about the advert, I always avoid ones which have 99 percent about Deloreans and very little about the actual car for sale so make sure you get them to update it when you supply the information sooner rather than later.

There seems to be some issues with the pictures as well.

Just done some research - this was one of the 3 original AXI RHD cars, referred to in this thread - AXI 1699:

DVLA still says that the last time the car was taxed was November 1989 - I think it's safe to assume the car hasn't run in almost 30 years

Hence why the guide price is this low. Frame pics or a check would be essential. Very interested to see what this ultimately goes for.
