If so I spoke to them several weeks ago in anticipation of either a distributor or CPR rebuild. £180 + VAT. Luckily it's just the CPR, diagnosed today. The garage that did the fuel pressure tests and diagnosed the buggered CPR didn't seem keen on a rebuild, saying it wouldn't last...

I have overhauled these before but it depends on how bad your old one is. Before dismissing it though, remove the fuel lines and spray wd40 in it to soak through and leave overnight. Blast it away with an airline from both sides as usually the fine filter gets clogged.

Thanks, that's an interesting idea. Although with labour costs to check the fuel pressures I may as well just get hold of a known goodun and be done with it.

Fuel pressures today were: HOT control pressure 4.2bar, COLD 3.7 bar.

Primary pressure was bang on at 5.2 bar.

KMI rebuild stuff and set it up, as far as I know they are effectively new when returned.

I'm pretty sure Jason has used them for bits over the years, maybe he'll chime in

The pressure is directly related to the temp. of the cpr to the degree.

Going on rough figures those pressures are definitely wrong!

It'd only take an hour to strip and clean it. Where in the county are you based?

Hi Admin,

It looks like I'll be taking the CPR off the car one way or another as I can only find one NOS replacement in the US on ebay for $500 (plus shipping and duty), which is too expensive for me bearing in mind that if it has sat that long it may need overhauling itself...I phoned Bosch this morning, they tapped in the serial number and the computer said "no", and has been saying that for ten years.

The guys at the garage, who do lots of K-jet work on Porches, weren't keen on a rebuild, saying it'd be ok for a bit then pack up again. But maybe they haven't come into contact with a KMI rebuild, who gets nothing but positive reviews online. If it's going to have to come off to send to KMI, I might as well get handy with it myself first, they look like very simple animals after all.

I'm in Horsham, West Sussex. I'm learning lots...but was naive to think all that needed to fix the fuelling was a new O2 sensor, without looking at the pressures first! Fortunately the thing is still perfectly drivable...

I have a varied range of control pressure regulators, The one that was mounted on the Delorean engine had vacuum ports for forced induction applications and also emission control applications. I don't know whether you are running Delorean or Volvo fuel injection, if the latter you just need the basic CPR, I have few kicking about £40 posted if your interested, I might have a Delorean one as well, will have to check
