Steering wheel puller wanted

Postby MikeWard » Fri Nov 21, 2014 12:23 pm

Does anyone have a steering wheel puller that I could borrow please?

The steering wheel is the last bit of the interior left in the project car and I need to get it out before it all goes down to Lee for retrimming.

Thanks in advance

I think James had a special one that fits this car. He's been kind enough to lend it out before.

sounds like you're cracking on with that job pretty quick

Cheers Nick, will drop James a message.

It's coming along nicely, still lot's to do on it, I'll get around to putting some pictures up at some point.

I'll have a look for it, it's well travelled that's for sure, I just can't think where it is, I have a habit of sending it out without taking note of where I have sent it.

Great work Mike, big job!

I think I could probably do with the puller next - so if Darren doesn't mind can it go back to Chichester via NW London? :D

Sorry Gez, the puller went back with Darren yesterday, he very kindly popped up with it and got the wheel off for me.
I'm actually surprised it came off, having had to contend with some threads which were not very clever, most likely due to the previous owner having had a go at it in the past, and failing. Darren persevered though and with the help of some cut down furniture bolts, and a few taps of a hammer, the wheel finally came free.

Hi Gez,

Your most welcome to borrow the Steering wheel puller. I've made even longer threaded rods for it after Mike's Steering wheel gave us some resistance so it's ready to go again :D Just send me a pm if you want me to post it to you ;)
Cheers
