So, I think, if I did get the bits of the impeller, they're either misplaced or gone completely. I've looked in the places where I would have put them, and they're not there.

Here's some photos of the shaft. You can see the score down the end, you can see the pits down the shaft length and you can see the flange which is stopping the seal from being pulled off the shaft...

The flange as you call it will come off the shaft, it is located against a recessed wire clip that locates in a groove in the shaft. You cant see it because the back of the flange also has a recess machined into it on the side nearest the impellor and this covers / hides the clip. The pulley isn't a major problem but the impellor is unfortunately. Also the shaft would have been ok as the scoring isn't in the way of the seal seat. I don't think the shaft is pitted I think its clumsy hammering although that also could have been polished out. We are trying to get a good spare up together for the club so if you're feeling charitable perhaps you would consider boxing up all the bits for Arran and then we are sort of half way there :violin: Just a suggestion.
