Water Pump Reseal kit

Postby Rissy » Tue Sep 15, 2015 3:30 pm

Just wondering if anyone has a X REF number for the appropriate reseal kit for the Delorean water pump. I've changed mine over for one of Ed's remanufactured ones over the summer, but i'd like to salvage my original one and leave it sitting on the shelf as a future backup. ("run one - save one")

I've done some searches against Volvo 240 and 760 and PRV6 etc, but not having much luck (without getting too "painstaking" - that one is for you Ali)

I would recommend you send it off to Dave H and have his guy refurbish it. His guy is tried and tested and has been known to resurrect even the worst looking pumps, and they come back looking like new.

Circa £100 for a guaranteed good job seems like a good price to me.

I've had that answer already from DOC.

I'm looking for the DIY answer. (Project)

What's the Dbros? Google search comes up a bit ropey.

Ah well it's a very clever bunch of brothers from Southampton who all own DeLorean's I am sure they will reply soon.

We will have a spare pump for swap out soon, just got to dig another one out for refurb

There will likely be a write up on how to do it

Hi

DBro 1 checking in here

Yes, as Al has said, we have done a bit of work on this and we have successfully overhauled a couple of pumps ourselves. As it happens with parts that we keep in stock within our business.

The intention is that we will obtain a donor pump and post a "how to" on the forum in the near future.

In the meantime, I will dig out the part numbers and post them shortly

Cheers

Mike
