Door Latch Needed

Postby asifmalik » Wed Jun 22, 2016 2:19 pm

Hi Guys
I need a door latch, drivers side, front latch.

Ed only seems to be selling them in packs of four, maybe someone has the one I need?

It jammed, and when i try and move it open with a screwdriver it's not smooth at opening and catches.

I've lubricated it, but for the time being Im driving with the striker pin removed so that I dont get locked in.

I also think the rods may need adjusting...

Thats what i was going to suggest, adjusting the rods, I had to do my pass door for the opposite reason, it wouldn't latch, as soon as i adjusted the rods it works fine, might be worth trying this 1st as even if the latch isn't smooth it should still release when you push the door open as long as the rods are adjusted ok

If you get stuck I may know someone who has used latches, I'll drop him a message now.

I think it will probably be adjustment Asif as Mec has said.

If you are coming to Norfolk next month we can have a look at it then if you like.

If Mike W can get hold of a spare latch then better still, FYI I believe that the drivers front latch is the same part as the passenger rear and vice versa.

Cheers

Lotus Elise S1 and S2, Vauxhall VX220 are the same latches. Allegro I believe is the original source
