Look what I got in the mail today

Postby RobvdVeer » Wed Jan 13, 2010 3:42 pm

...nothing but a notice from a courier saying that I wasn't home to receive a package from the US.

Could that be my new speedhut dials?

And yep. Today the courier came again and they were indeed my new gauge dials. They look pretty good. I'm planning to takes some photos during the installation, to share my experiences.

I couldn't find the site you mentioned, but mine came from www.speedhut.com.

Preview of the speedhut dials

First impressions are that is cool pretty ok. And the light blue is a very 'cool' color. personally, it could be a lot brighter, as it not visible in the daylight, but the effect is nice and subtle in the dark. Later this weekend it will patch up so corners with black paint to minimize a bit of light bleeding.

A little follow-up on this is due..

The other day I contacted speedhut on the brightness of the dials and if they're supposed to be this dim. First reply said they should be brighter than this on maximum settings. I'll keep you all posted on the progress.

They do look cool, but they do look dark too! unless the camera makes it look worse. What is the deal with the bulb/LED - can you change that?

What bulb/Led? If you mean the blue in the lower right, that is the connection to the inverter. The picture shows a dismantled binnacle.
